In short
The app does not require a Castly account, contains no advertising, and does not send camera footage, microphone audio or recorded files to Castly. The website does not use advertising profiling systems.
Data controller

Data and permissions used by the app
- Camera: used for previews, scenes/crops, motion analysis and PROGRAM recording.
- Microphone / audio input: used for level monitoring and audio recording.
- User-selected files and folders: used to save recordings to the selected destination.
- Local preferences: settings such as language, source configuration and operating preferences may be stored locally on the Mac.
This data stays on the device unless the user explicitly takes an action such as moving or sharing a recorded file.
What Castly Director does not do
- it does not automatically upload video or audio to Castly servers;
- it does not sell personal data;
- it does not use advertising IDs, advertising pixels or remarketing systems;
- it does not create advertising profiles;
- it does not require a Castly account to use the app.
App Store and Apple services
Downloads, purchases, updates, receipts and other App Store services are handled by Apple under Apple’s own terms and privacy policies. Castly Director may use technical information provided by StoreKit, such as storefront country, only for app functions such as choosing the initial language. Castly does not receive Apple ID credentials.
Website and automatic language selection
When you visit director.castly.it, the server may use the IP address to obtain only the country code and automatically select Italian for Italy or English for other countries. Where available, the country is provided directly by the hosting/CDN. If that information is unavailable, a technical server-side request may be made to the IP geolocation service ipwho.is solely to obtain the country code. If detection is unavailable, the preferred browser language is used as a fallback.
Your manual language choice is stored in a technical cookie named castly_lang.
Contact form and support
If you voluntarily send a message through the website or by email, we may process your name, email, optional phone/company information and the content of your request solely to reply and provide support. Data is retained for as long as needed to handle the request and for applicable administrative or legal requirements.
Website technical data
The hosting provider may generate temporary technical logs such as IP address, date/time, requested URL and browser information for security and service operation. The website uses Google Fonts for the Titillium Web typeface; loading the font may involve a connection to Google servers with standard network technical data.
Your rights
Where provided by applicable law, you may request access, rectification, deletion, restriction, objection and portability of personal data and may lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority.
Permissions and user control
Camera and Microphone permissions can be changed at any time in System Settings → Privacy & Security. Revoking access may prevent the related app features from working.

This policy may be updated following technical, legal or functional changes. The latest version is always published on this page.
